1st Chapter of a Novel: Lynn York

Lynn York is the author of THE PIANO TEACHER and THE SWEET LIFE. Both novels feature Miss Wilma who author Lee Smith calls, "Eudora Welty meets Miss Marple." The main character resides in a fictional small town in York's native North Carolina. http://www.lynnyork.com

Short Story: Jim Tomlinson

Jim Tomlinson, a resident of Berea, Kentucky, won the prestigious Iowa Short Fiction Award in 2006 for his short story collection, THINGS KEPT, THINGS LEFT BEHIND. The recipient of various other awards, including a 2008 NEA Fellowship, Tomlinson shares his writing process on his website: http://www.jim-tomlinson.com

Poetry: Mary "Ernie" O'Dell

Mary "Ernie" O'Dell founded Green River Writers, Inc., a 24-year-old non-profit in Louisville, Kentucky. Her poetry collections include Poems for the Man Who Weights Light, Living in the Body, and The Dangerous Man. She has won many competitions, including the Writer's Digest poetry contest. At present she mentors a group of poets weekly in Crestwood, Kentucky. http://www.greenriverwriters.org

Nonfiction: Katey Brichto

Katey Brichto, a former student of E. L. Doctorow, is a writer and teacher. She resides in a bucolic paradise in southeastern Indiana alongside wonderful neighbors, many of whom think writing is what you do on a horse. She expects to complete a second novel this summer.
