In 1984, O'Dell
co-founded Green River Writers, a non-profit in
Louisville, Kentucky. Her many awards include 1st place in Writer's Digest's poetry competition. Her poems have
appeared in Glimmer Train and 100 other literary journals.
Edwin Mellen Press published two of her poetry collections: Poems for
the Man Who Weights Light (1999) and Living in the Body (2002). The
Dangerous Man (2003) was published by Fishing Line Press. At
present, she mentors a group of poets weekly in Crestwood, Kentucky.
O'Dell offers individual tutoring sessions for poets for
$10/hour.
